How often does OutGROW OutPLAY have a sale? Twice a year in the spring/summer and fall/winter. Check our sale dates, times & locations.
Is there an admission fee to a Sale? Yes, the admission fee is a non perishable food item (or two) for our Food Bank Partner or $2.00 per adult and kids/students are ALWAYS free. Various Community Partners volunteer their services and work the door. OutGROW OutPLAY is proud to donate a percentage from every admission dollar back to their worthwhile organization.
What will I find at an OutGROW OutPLAY sale event? We never know exactly what items will show up at each sale, but if kids use it, we are likely to have it. Our savvy shoppers have very high expectations and they attend our sales expecting to purchase in-style, like-new merchandise at reasonable prices.
How can I pay for the items I’d like to buy at a sale? We accept cash, debit card, Visa or Mastercard.
Will you have shopping carts available? NO. BIG shopping bags will be available for your use during the sale. We ask you to recycle your grocery bags and bring some with you so we can bag your purchases... but it's up to you. Solid bags (back packs, etc) will not be allowed into any sale and must be checked at the door.
What is your return policy? All sales are final unless an item has been recalled. If an item has been recalled we will gladly refund your money. Please print out a copy of the specific recall and bring it back before the end of the sale.
Why do you give Volunteers and Consignors an Exclusive Pre-Sale Extravaganza Pass? Because without them... there would be no OutGROW OutPLAY sale! It takes many people to coordinate and organize a sale of this magnitude and it’s our way of saying "THANK YOU". Volunteers receive a Volunteer Appreciation Pre-Sale Pass and shop before anyone else... even consignors and the public.
How can I get an Pre-Sale Extravaganza Pass? You can receive a Pre-Sale Pass two ways:
Can I bring a friend to the Pre-Sale Extravaganza? No. You can only bring your spouse or children.
Why Should I Consign with OutGROW OutPLAY? We can give you many reasons why you should consign with us but simply put... by choosing us, you are partnering with the BEST!
Who can become a Consignor? Absolutely ANYONE, who has like new quality items in good condition.
Do I have to volunteer or stay for the sale? No. You are welcome to come and help during the sale but it is not required. All you need to do is price, tag and drop off your items... we do the rest and sell your items for you!
How difficult is it to enter my items and print tags? Registering online is quick and easy! Once registered, you will be assigned a consignor number and can get started immediately. Our exclusive online tagging system is user friendly and you can print your bar-coded tags within minutes.
Do I have to enter my items online all at the same time? No. You can add items whenever you like 24/7 right up until the night before the sale opens!
How much does it cost to become a Consignor? We deduct a $15 registration fee from your cheque. If you do not sell anything, no fee will be collected. We assume many costs and cover all expenses (venue rental, insurance, permits, printing, hardware, advertising,etc.) Volunteers save $5 off the registration fee! Please note: Every time you refer a NEW consignor, who registers and consigns at our sale, you'll earn an extra $5 on your consignor cheque. No Limit!
What is the minimum and maximum number of items I call sell or dollar amount consigned? 20 "accepted" items or items totalling more than $50.00. There is no maximum on the amount of items you can sell!
How do I price my items? PRICE TO SELL... Shoppers are looking for good deals and fair prices! Base your price on the condition, quality, and brand name of your item. Ask yourself, would I buy it and what would I pay for it? We suggest that you price your items at 1/3 to 1/2 of the original price (1/2 for kid’s furniture, larger outdoor playground equipment, video games/accessories/systems and most sports equipment). What percentage of items can I expect to sell at a sale? Most Consignors will sell approximately 70% to 80% of their items when priced right. Approximately 90% of toys and furniture sell when priced right.
Can I only sell items listed on your Merchandise Guideline? No, you can sell almost any item related to a specific sale.
Should I assemble my items that require assembly? Definitely yes! Furniture and toys sell much better when they are put together. A shopper is able to see that your item is complete and what it looks like. We ask that you either bring your items assembled or allow for extra time during your drop off time to assemble them at the sale location.
Will you accept all the items that I drop-off? Probably not! OutGROW OutPLAY screens all items very closely to ensure our shoppers high standards and maintain a quality upscale sale. Please do not be offended if we do not accept an item or pull an item from the sales floor. It is easy to miss something while getting your items ready at home.
Do I need an appointment to drop off my items? We prefer you make a prearranged appointment to drop off your items however it is not mandatory. Please understand though, that consignors with a scheduled appointment will be given first priority. It will take 20-30 minutes to check your items into the sale. If you are checking in 25 or more items you MUST make an appointment.
When do I pick-up my unsold items? All items MUST be picked up between specific times for each sale or they will automatically be donated to our Charity Partners.
Can a friend pick up my unsold items for me? Yes, but only if you've indicated the persons name on your registration form. A spouse can pick up your items as well. Please note that for inventory control and to ensure accuracy, we will be double checking to make sure all consignor numbers and items correspond at pick-up.
When will I receive my cheque and my reconciled inventory report? Within 5 business days after the sale!
Will I keep the same consignor number for all sales? Yes, you will keep the same consignment number when you consign at our location. If you want to consign at another OutGROW OutPLAY sale, you will need to register for that specific location.

I am not sure how to make my own tags, can I still participate? Yes! Anyone who has ever used the web at all will be able to handle this step with ease. If you are unable to print out your tags or need help, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

.Why do you need volunteers? Volunteers are extremely important to the success of the sale and without volunteers an OutGROW OutPLAY sale would not be possible.
What would I be doing as a volunteer? First of all, you will be having a good time! OutGROW OutPLAY will try to make everyone’s experience as fun as possible. Second, your duties will depend on what type of volunteer shift you choose.
Can I volunteer even if I am not a Consignor? Yes. Everyone is welcome to volunteer. Many people like to volunteer because it's fun to get together with other moms and because volunteers get to shop the Pre-Sale Extravaganza before anyone else. Can I bring my spouse, teenager or child to volunteer with me? Absolutely! What a wonderful way for your son or daughter to earn their community hours credit for high school. If you’d like to volunteer your spouse, we’d love to have them! Kids under 12 are not allowed to volunteer for the public sale but are welcome to volunteer with you before or after the sale. Please note that there will not be day-care on site, so you will be responsible for your child/children.
